FOOD & DRINK STYLING AWARDS — ENTRY TERMS & CONDITIONS

Last updated: 16 August 2026

1. WHO WE ARE

The Food & Drink Styling Awards (the "Awards") are organised and operated by Lola Faura, a sole proprietorship (eenmanszaak) registered in the Netherlands at Nachtwachtlaan 124, 1058 ED Amsterdam, the Netherlands, Chamber of Commerce (KVK) number 92978258 (the "Organiser", "we", "us"). You can contact us at lola@lolafaura.com.

These Entry Terms & Conditions (the "Terms") govern participation in the Awards, including registration, submission of entries via portal.foodanddrinkstylingawards.com (the "Platform"), judging, and publication of results. By registering, submitting an entry, or paying an entry fee, you accept these Terms.

2. DEFINITIONS

"Entrant" / "you": the person or company that registers and submits an Entry.

"Entry": each image (or set of images) and accompanying information submitted to the Awards.

"Rights Holder": any person or entity holding rights in or relating to an Entry, including the photographer, the photographer's agency or representative, the commissioning client, any brand or licensor, any person depicted, and the owner of any depicted property, artwork, or prop.

3. ELIGIBILITY

3.1 The Awards are open to food and drink stylists and creative professionals from any country, aged 18 or over at the closing date.

3.2 The Awards are not open to the Organiser's staff, the judges, or anyone directly involved in organising or judging the Awards, nor to their immediate family members.

3.3 The Organiser may verify eligibility at any time and may disqualify any Entry that does not comply with these Terms, without refund or compensation.

4. ENTRIES AND FEES

4.1 Entries must be submitted through the Platform before the published closing date. Proof of transmission is not proof of receipt.

4.2 Entry fees are shown on the Platform and are payable at submission via our payment provider (Stripe). Entry fees are non-refundable, including where an Entry is withdrawn, disqualified, or removed under these Terms, except where a refund is required by mandatory law.

4.3 The Organiser may move an Entry to a more suitable category at the judges' discretion.

4.4 Once submitted, Entries cannot be withdrawn, except that an Entry will be removed on request where a rights or permissions issue is notified (see section 10); no refund is payable in that case.

5. ENTRY REQUIREMENTS

5.1 Entries must comply with the file, format, and content requirements published on the Platform.

5.2 The styling shown in each Entry must be the Entrant's own work. Where an Entry is submitted on behalf of a stylist (for example by an agent), the submitter warrants that they are authorised by the stylist to do so and that the stylist has accepted these Terms.

5.3 AI-generated images are not eligible. Images must be photographs of real styled food or drink. Standard retouching is permitted provided the integrity of the styling work is not misrepresented. The Organiser may request original/RAW files to verify authenticity; failure to provide them on request may result in disqualification.

6. COPYRIGHT, PERMISSIONS, AND ENTRANT WARRANTIES

This section is the core of your agreement with us. Because the Awards celebrate styling, we expect that in most cases the Entrant (the stylist) will not be the copyright owner of the photograph. It is therefore an absolute condition of entry that you have permission from every Rights Holder before you submit.

6.1 By submitting an Entry, you represent and warrant that:

(a) the styling shown in the Entry is your own original work (or that of the stylist on whose behalf you are authorised to enter);

(b) you either own the copyright in each submitted image, or you have obtained, prior to submission, the express consent of the copyright owner — whether that is the photographer, the photographer's agency, the commissioning client, a publisher, or any other party — to submit the image to the Awards and to permit the uses described in section 8;

(c) where any image has been created under a commission, employment, or licensing arrangement (for example for a brand, agency, publisher, or restaurant), the terms of that arrangement permit submission to the Awards, or you have obtained the express consent of the relevant party;

(d) every identifiable person depicted in the Entry has consented to being portrayed as shown and to the uses described in section 8, and, for any minor, that consent has been given by a parent or legal guardian;

(e) all props, artworks, locations, trademarks, product packaging, and other materials visible in the Entry are used with all permissions required;

(f) the Entry does not infringe the copyright, trademark, moral rights, privacy, publicity, or any other rights of any person or entity in any jurisdiction, and does not contain unlawful, defamatory, obscene, or misleading content; and

(g) all information you provide with the Entry (including credits) is accurate.

6.2 It is your sole responsibility to obtain and, on request, evidence every consent and permission referred to in section 6.1. The Organiser strongly recommends obtaining written permission and retaining it. The Organiser may at any time request evidence of any permission; failure to provide it promptly may result in disqualification and removal of the Entry, without refund.

6.3 The Organiser does not review Entries for rights clearance and accepts no responsibility for verifying that any consent or permission has been obtained. As between you and the Organiser, all responsibility for rights clearance rests with you.

7. CONFIRMATION AT SUBMISSION (RIGHTS DECLARATION)

7.1 You cannot complete submission and payment without first ticking a mandatory declaration confirming that you have read and accept these Terms and that the warranties in section 6 are true for every Entry in your order. The Platform records your acceptance, including the date and time, your account, the Entries concerned, and the version of the Terms in force at that moment, and this record constitutes evidence of your declaration.

7.2 Ticking the declaration without actually holding the required permissions is a material breach of these Terms.

8. LICENCE TO THE ORGANISER; YOUR COPYRIGHT

8.1 Copyright in each submitted image remains with its copyright owner. The Organiser claims no ownership of any Entry.

8.2 By submitting an Entry, you grant the Organiser (and warrant that you are authorised by the copyright owner to grant) a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to reproduce, display, publish, and communicate the Entry, in all media, for purposes connected with the Awards, including: judging; announcement and display of shortlists, finalists and winners on the Platform and the Awards' website and social channels; inclusion in Awards-related press, promotional, and marketing materials; and any exhibition or publication of Awards results. Wherever reasonably practicable, the stylist and (where credit information is provided) the photographer will be credited; an inadvertent failure to credit is not a breach of these Terms. In some of these circumstances, commercial opportunities may exist for winning stylists and photographers to benefit from the use of their image: where a commercial benefit is likely to arise, permission will be sought in advance and Terms and Conditions will be agreed.

8.3 Any commercial use beyond section 8.2 will only occur with prior separate agreement.

9. INDEMNITY

9.1 You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless the Organiser and its directors, employees, contractors, judges, sponsors, and partners from and against any and all claims, demands, proceedings, losses, damages, liabilities, fines, costs, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) brought by any person or entity — including any photographer, agency, client, licensor, or person depicted — arising out of or in connection with:

(a) your Entry or its submission, publication, or use as permitted by these Terms;

(b) any breach or alleged breach of the warranties in section 6; or

(c) any other breach by you of these Terms or of applicable law.

9.2 This indemnity survives the conclusion of the Awards and the removal of any Entry.

10. NOTICE-AND-TAKEDOWN; DISQUALIFICATION

10.1 The Organiser hosts Entries as content provided by Entrants. If any person believes an Entry infringes their rights, they may notify lola@lolafaura.com with sufficient detail to identify the Entry and the claimed rights. The Organiser will review notices promptly and may remove or disable access to the Entry while a claim is investigated, and will remove any Entry that it reasonably believes to be infringing.

10.2 The Organiser may disqualify any Entry and/or Entrant, remove any content, withdraw any award or title already conferred, and reclaim any prize, where it reasonably believes these Terms have been breached. No refund or compensation is payable on disqualification or removal.

11. JUDGING AND RESULTS

11.1 Judging criteria and the judging process are described on the Platform. The judges' and the Organiser's decisions are final, and no correspondence will be entered into.

11.2 The Organiser may decline to grant an award in any category if, in the judges' opinion, no Entry of sufficient quality has been received.

11.3 Winners and finalists agree to reasonable participation in Awards publicity, including use of their name, likeness, and Entry as described in section 8, without additional payment.

12. LIABILITY OF THE ORGANISER

12.1 To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, the Organiser is not liable for: loss or corruption of submitted files; failed, late, or unreceived submissions; downtime or errors of the Platform; acts or omissions of third parties (including payment providers, hosting providers, sponsors, and any third party misusing a published image); or any indirect or consequential loss.

12.2 Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability that cannot be excluded or limited under applicable law, including liability for intent (opzet) or gross negligence (bewuste roekeloosheid) of the Organiser, or your mandatory rights as a consumer.

12.3 To the extent liability is not excluded, the Organiser's total aggregate liability to an Entrant is limited to the entry fees paid by that Entrant for the edition of the Awards concerned.

13. PERSONAL DATA

Personal data is processed in accordance with our Privacy Policy, available on the Platform.

14. CHANGES; SEVERABILITY; ENTIRE AGREEMENT

14.1 The Organiser may amend these Terms for future editions of the Awards, or where required by law. The Terms accepted at the time of submission apply to that Entry.

14.2 If any provision of these Terms is held invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions remain in full force, and the invalid provision will be replaced by a valid provision that most closely reflects its intent.

14.3 These Terms, together with the entry information published on the Platform, constitute the entire agreement between you and the Organiser regarding the Awards.

15. GOVERNING LAW AND JURISDICTION

15.1 These Terms, and any dispute or claim arising out of or in connection with them or the Awards, are governed by the laws of the Netherlands, excluding its conflict of law rules.

15.2 The courts of Amsterdam, the Netherlands have exclusive jurisdiction, except that if you are a consumer residing in the EU/EEA you retain any right under mandatory law to bring or defend proceedings in your country of residence, and nothing in this clause deprives you of the protection of mandatory consumer law of that country.
